Trappist-1 Link for 6th graders

Please click here for more information on the Trappist-1 system that NASA announced finding on February 22, 2017. It is significant because they believe that all 7 planets could have liquid water on them and 3 of them are in what they consider the habitable zone.

Things to do at Penn State

Museums:

Earth & Mineral Science Museum in the Deike Building will be open on Monday & Tuesday from 9:30 – 5 Matson

Museum of Anthropology in the Carpenter Building will be open on Monday & Tuesday from 11-4 All-Sports

Museum at Beaver Stadium is open on Sunday from 12-4 and Tuesday 10-4

Palmer Art Museum is open on Sunday from 12-4 and Tuesday 10-4:30

Telescopes

Monday, May 18, personnel from the Penn State Astronomy Department will set up telescopes in the East Halls area. Approximate times are from 9-11 pm. Come and see the real stars! Because the viewing is weather dependent, a decision will be made late Monday afternoon as to whether it will be a go or not. Check at the Information Desk after 6:00.
